Description
On the Caribbean coast of Venezuela lies the small village of Cuyagua, the source of this single origin chocolate. Cuyagua cacao has been prized for generations, dating back to the Portuguese pirates who once traded these beans. I have the honor of making artisan dark chocolate from this rare cacao, but I treasure just as much the farmer behind it, a man with the soul of a poet.
When I gave him a bar made from cacao he helped grow and harvest, he called the chocolate a river. Its flavor, he explained, carries you from one place to another, always unfolding. This single origin dark chocolate has earned multiple international honors, making it genuine award winning chocolate among our dark chocolate bars. I hope you enjoy Cuyagua’s river of flavor as much as he did.
