The AMANO Blog One of the things I have always found most wonderful about chocolate is how unlike it is from so many other foods: it reaches in and touches a person’s soul. Few foods do that, and none that I’m aware of do so so completely. Because of this, I have had some incredible experiences. People of all walks of life tell me what a profound impact our chocolate has had on them and how much they love that experience. (or love the chocolate?) The same goes for some well-known chefs whom I have admired from afar for years.

Cardamom Black Pepper
Before starting Amano, I experimented with an incredible number of flavor combinations. Chocolate with cardamom and black pepper was one of my favorite discoveries. This bar uses our award winning Dos Rios chocolate made from unusually flavorful cacao beans out of the Dominican Republic. Those beans have natural bergamot orange and lavender flavors to them. Blend and grind those beans with the finest cardamom and black pepper and the resulting flavor combination is electrifying. I’ve added crunchy bits to make it even more addictive.
My first successful chocolate bars that I gave away as Christmas presents including a cardamom and black pepper bar. It was because of those bars that made the recipients of those gifts convince me to start Amano Chocolate. You might say that with our Cardamom Black Pepper bar we have come full circle back to the origins of Amano Chocolate.
