It does not mean we add fruit or flavorings to our chocolate. We are purists, and our chocolate is pure chocolate.

This chocolate is truly unlike any other milk chocolate you have ever tried. We use only the highest quality whole milk to make this chocolate and it is blended with one of the world's greatest cocoa beans. The beans come exclusively from the Ocumare Valley in Venezuela and just as they produce an absolutely incredible dark chocolate, they produce a milk chocolate that is equally as rich, complex, and utterly beautiful.

The Chocolate Maker's Notes:

When I buy cocoa beans, I have the opportunity to visit a wondrous array of communities that are far from the beaten path. Ocumare is one of them. Ox-cart width streets lined with colonial houses testify to Ocumare's long history. Ocumare's cocoa has been highly prized and exported since at least the 1600's. The people of Ocumare are gentle and humble; whose culture is a mix of Indigenous and Spanish with influences from the Caribbean. I greatly enjoy my time in Ocumare visiting with its people, telling stories, sharing our chocolate and enjoying their cocoa.

It is hard labor intensive work growing cocoa. Each time I make chocolate from these wondrous beans, I always think of the time that I spend in Ocumare and of the hard work that its humble farmers put into growing and preparing them for me. The least I can do is to try to honor their efforts with vision, care, and love.

To create this milk chocolate, I hand selected teh best cocoa from this region. The richness of the beans from Ocumare, tempered with milk, creates a delicate chocolate I treasure for its perfectly balanced flavors of milk and cocoa. If you passionately seek fine-flavored milk chocolate, as I do, this chocolate is for you.

Amano Artisan Chocolate is dedicated to reviving the art of making fine chocolate from the bean. We craft our chocolate in small batches only from the finest cocoa beans, pure cane sugar, and whole vanilla beans. I hope you enjoy our chocolate.

 

Presentation:

Each bar is individually foil wrapped and beautifully boxed. Each box is printed on high grade paper providing a luxurious feel in the hand. The "Food of the Gods " painting is an original piece of artwork by artist Tom Fedro commissioned by Amano Artisan Chocolate specifically for the Ocumare 30% Milk chocolate. The borders and details have been gently highlighted with gold foil accenting creating a stunning presentation making it suitable for gifts as well as your own enjoyment.
