We found a small quantity of beans from the Cuyagua valley in Venezuela. There were too few beans for the other manufacturers to use but we purchased them and this bar is the result. Our Cuyagua bar has a very complex flavor; its rich chocolate background has notes of spices that make it truly incredible. By way of comparison, the Cuyagua is similar to our Ocumare bar in depth but with flavor notes of spice replacing the Ocumare's fruity notes. Even so, this is very unique chocolate and a wonderful flavor experience. If you are looking for a chocolate that is truly outstanding, this is the bar for you.

Distribution:

This bar has been issued as a Limited Edition. There were too few beans for us to make enough chocolate to sell this bar via our retailers in any quantity so this bar is available almost exclusively through our website.

Origin Information :

If you follow birds in Venezuela in their annual migrations, they flock to a series of cloud-forest covered coastal mountains.  At their base is a small-secluded valley known as Cuyagua -- home to cocoa plantations dating to the early 1700's and some of Venezuela's finest cocoa.  This bar's chocolate is made solely from these highly prized Cuyagua cocoa beans.  They are gently roasted and then stone ground creating an exceptional single origin chocolate we know you will treasure for a long time to come.

Presentation:

Each bar is individually foil wrapped and beautifully boxed. Each box is printed on high grade paper providing a luxurious feel in the hand. The borders and details have been gently highlighted with gold foil accenting creating a stunning presentation making it suitable for gifts as well as your own enjoyment.
